Congratulations to Hassell who were recently awarded the top Canberra Medallion at the ACT Architecture Awards, for their work on the ANU Birch Building.
Working in partnership with Hassell, ANU and other key stakeholders, Hindmarsh was engaged as the Managing Contractor to deliver this $75M complex project. Hindmarsh worked carefully to protect, retain, and reuse components from the original build which was constructed in 1967 and has significant heritage value to the Australian National University.
Along with the Canberra Medallion, Hassell also received the J S Murdoch Award for Heritage, Enrico Taglietti Award for Educational Architecture, and the W Hayward Morris Award for Interior Architecture for their work on this historic building which provides contemporary teaching spaces, modern learning environments and PC1 / PC2 certified research laboratories for the College of Engineering & Computer Sciences.
Congratulations to all involved on a job well done.
