1 King William Street Recladding project delivered by Hindmarsh

We are delighted to announce the completion of the façade replacement of 1 King William Street (1KWS) in South Australia.

1KWS is a prominent, multi-tenanted, commercial building located on the Corner of King William Street and North Terrace in the CBD in Adelaide.

Hindmarsh worked in close collaboration with Royale Investment Trust, Colliers International and the Consultant and Subcontract teams to design the new unique aluminium façade in keeping with the building’s legacy aesthetics. Key design features include the buildings feature fins, and building crown.

Nikki Naidu, Hindmarsh Project Manager said, “I am very proud of this Hindmarsh Recladding project. As is the nature of construction, several unforeseen challenges/variations arose during the program. The Hindmarsh project team, our partners, subcontractors, and suppliers demonstrated exceptional dedication, adaptability, and resilience. Working continuously for several months, including weekends and night shifts, fostered a strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie which we will proudly carry over into future projects. Thank you to everyone for your hard work and dedication. The exceptional, high-quality outcome is testament to you all.”

Hindmarsh’s membership with Supply Nation reinforces our commitment to diversity both within our workforce and procurement processes. Hindmarsh has a history of initiatives designed to help close the gap for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities, including working with Reconciliation Australia to develop a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

Hindmarsh are excited to announce that we have now topped out the structure across all three buildings at Woden Green!

Keeping with tradition, we recently mounted a tree to the top of the tallest tower, to symbolise this huge milestone. The mounting of a tree is a tradition that dates far back, some saying it originated in Scandinavia and others citing Egypt. It has been adopted in modern times to symbolise various things, such as appeasing spirits, or bringing new life to the building.

Senior Project Manager, Renee Ioppi, says of this achievement, “For us, it’s about celebrating the team’s success and commitment to the project. Our construction team and sub-contractor’s work really hard to get a project to this point, and this milestone underlines the project’s real success. It takes a lot of hard work and team effort to achieve such success, and it’s a great source of pride for us all.”

“It’s exciting to see Woden Green taking shape, and we are proud of the finished apartments and of the progress our construction team are making. Walking through these apartments, you truly appreciate the functionality and liveability – a true reflection of the level of design and detail we put into each individual layout. Then there’s the views, which continue to impress us from all apartments. The views are expansive and will never get old!” said State Development Manager ACT, Mia Dragila.

Woden Green is the largest residential development (419 apartments), that Hindmarsh has undertaken since our founding in 1979 – well done and thank you to everyone involved in making this project such a success so far!
