Globe East End Student Apartments, SA

Project Overview

The Globe student accommodation building is situated right in the heart of the Adelaide’s East End, close to the University of Adelaide, University of South Australia, and other leading educational institutions.

The Hindmarsh owned site was developed in partnership with Unity Housing Group, and brought to life by the Hindmarsh Development and Hindmarsh Construction divisions working together to deliver 78 x two-bedroom apartments. Sixty percent of the development provided affordable housing for students and low-income earners, with the balance sold as private residencies.

Hindmarsh Construction and Development worked closely on a rigorous value management process with resulted in the Globe East End apartments achieving a higher BCA compliance certificate than was originally estimated at conception.

Safe & secure accommodation

The safety of all residents was a top priority for the completed project. An individual swipe card system was integrated throughout, including building and lift lobby access and individual cards for each apartment entry door.

Sustainable design

The rigorous value management process, which resulted in significant cost reductions, improved material selections and resulted in multiple environmentally sustainable design initiatives, includin the use of double glazing within the original budget allowance, improved air conditioning system efficiencies through design optimisation and higher floor to ceiling heights - improving natural light and personal sense of space.
