BANKSTOWN-LIDCOMBE EMERGENCY
DEPARTMENT, NSW

Bankstown-Lidcombe Emergency Department

Project Overview

This $15M refurbishment and expansion project will deliver contemporary facilities with improved patient care to the existing Emergency Hospital. The project included a combination of new build and refurbishment of the existing emergency department and adjoining car parking facilities, with the existing operational constraints of the hospital remaining uninterrupted as practicably possible.

Complex staging of works within the existing facilities of the emergency department for refit activities has been carefully planned and maintained with active stakeholder engagement.

Key features of the project include, an increase in area and treatment spaces; enhanced emergency care for the local community; additional emergency department short stay unit capacity; streaming of patients to the most appropriate environment of care to reflect their level of complexity; and an improved emergency care experience for staff, patients and visitors.
