Project Update: 25 Grenfell Street Recladding, SA
On a sunny South Australian day, the last of the Hindmarsh mast climbers were removed from 25 Grenfell Street as the project nears completion.
Hindmarsh were engaged by Lamond Advisory, on behalf of Centuria & MA Financial to complete the façade upgrades at the Grenfell Centre, replacing legacy cladding with a more efficient panel solution which matched the aesthetics of the locally known ‘Black Stump’ commercial building.
When asked about the project, Liam Brosnan – Pre-Construction Manager said, “The Adelaide Hindmarsh team is excited to see the mast climbers coming down from 25 Grenfell Street The project is the first major recladding project for Hindmarsh in Adelaide and we have enjoyed working closely with the client, subcontractor (Cladding & Roofing) and designers to develop the project methodology. The façade refresh will help 25 Grenfell Street remain as a key business centre in the Adelaide CBD.
The 12,000 sqm Black Stump façade has had the aluminium composite cladding replaced with colour matched solid 3mm aluminium cladding offering superior panel performance. Extra insulation was also installed behind the cladding to improve the building’s energy efficiency performance and occupant’s comfort within the office space.
This project was delivered whilst maintaining ‘business as usual’ for all occupants, and minimising noise and access disruption associated with this type of project. On behalf of Hindmarsh SA, we would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we enhanced their working environment.”
