Belconnen Community Health Centre, ACT

Project Overview

The new Belconnen Enhanced Community Health Centre, provides the Belconnen community with a contemporary healthcare hub. The centre offers a range of services including aged care and rehabilitation services; community based nursing services; enhanced services in the allied health disciplines of physiotherapy, nutrition, child health, mental services, mammography, mental health, community based nursing and chronic disease management programs.

The 11,000 sqm development within the Belconnen Town Centre Precinct seeks to provide an attractive pedestrian environment that has active functions at podium level and is readily accessible from the bus station. The curved form is a response to the northern site boundary and to maximise the available space within the site and to create diversity in the urban landscape.

The Centre is in three distinct functional areas: Public access, treatment rooms and staff support offices with sub-functional zones including meeting rooms, diagnostic facilities, and primary care and treatment areas.
